     Eligibility for Joint Entrance Test  
     
 
  •    The admission to the Diploma Engineering Courses is made through the Joint Entrance Test. 85% seats are reserved for the internal candidates from within the State of Punjab and 15% seats are open to all candidates on All India basis.
 
     
 
  • The test is open to candidates who have passed the Matriculation or equivalent examination in Mathematics, Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) and English, provided that a candidate who has appeared for the qualifying examination but whose result has not been declared shall be admitted provisionally to the Joint Entrance Test but his/her candidature shall be cancelled if he/she fails to qualify in the qualifying examination or fails to produce the proof of his/her having qualified at the time of counseling. Such candidates will have no claim, whatsoever, with regard to the admission to any course.
 
     
 
  • Every year eligibility criteria is defined by the Govt. Notification which is issued by the Secretary, Technical Education before the conduct of JET.

  • The candidate must have passed the Matriculation examination or equivalent examination in Mathematics, Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) and English from any recognized Board. Apart from the above basic education qualifications, the general eligibility criteria shall be defined by the Punjab Government, Department of Technical Education and Industrial Training from time to time.

 
     
 
  • There shall be no cut-off marks in the JET but only the candidates who appear in the JET, and who have not been otherwise disqualified and whose rank has been declared by the Board, are eligible to appear in the counseling in the order of JET merit/ ranking. Applying for, but not appearing at the JET will not be sufficient to attain this eligibility.
  
     
 
  • There is no lower or upper age limit for admission.

 
     
 
  • Admission of candidates, who fulfill all other conditions for admission, will be effected on the basis of the relative merit in Joint Entrance Test, subject to reservation of seats as per policy of Government.
